Facilitation Skills and Moderation - SLE TRAINING

Would you like to gain more insights and experience in how to effectively chair a meeting and facilitate teams or groups? Are you passionate about creating a constructive and open-minded atmosphere in working groups? The training course provides participants with methods, tips and techniques for facilitating meetings and sessions.

 

Facilitation is a working method which plays an increasingly important role in professional everyday life. In facilitated processes the factual and the emotional relationship level are equally important. A professional facilitator must be able to shape both levels simultaneously and evenly to create a constructive and open-minded atmosphere in working groups. The focus of this training course is on the „how“ - giving the participants concrete suggestions for practical use.

 

Course Objectives : The participants learn how they can effectively chair a meeting and facilitate teams and groups in a results-oriented manner. They are provided with proven methods, tips and techniques for facilitating meetings and sessions effectively. They will increase their self-confidence as facilitators.

Course Methods: The focus of the course is on practical exercises. The participants are invited to practise facilitation and to experience themselves in the role of a facilitator. They are provided with tools and techniques in order to be able to conduct a meeting or session as facilitator.

 

Target Group: Participants should be familiar with basic communication skills such as active listening and constructive communication.

 

The course takes place at the Centre for Rural Development (SLE), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

 

Our short intensive courses promote learning through experience: 'Learning by doing for impact' is the most important aspect of the SLE's training philosophy. Our participants come from all around the globe: They include staff from development agencies, national and international NGOs, public institutions, university students and researchers, as well as professionals from the private sector. These different cultural backgrounds and professions add to an intercultural and transdisciplinary exchange of experiences within an enabling learning environment.

 

While there is no application deadline, there is only a limited number of places available in each course and they fill up quickly. We are looking forward to receiving your application!
